“Where every occasion is special”

Burton Farmhouse lies in a countryside setting not far from the sea in the pretty hamlet of Galmpton, a mile from Hope Cove. It’s an ideal base to explore the South Hams, an area of outstanding beauty with Dartmoor to the north, the Tamar valley and Plymouth to the west and Exeter and Torbay to the east.

Rolling hills and farmland are dissected by beautiful, wooded valleys through which run five rivers – the Dart, Avon, Erme, Yealm and Plym from Dartmoor to the sea. The historic towns, estuary ports and sailing centres are world famous – Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Modbury –all within easy reach.

There is something for everyone - award winning beaches, coastal and country footpaths, water sports and sailing, family day out attractions, festivals and agricultural shows, heritage and gardens, river trips and estuary cruises, museums and steam railways, smugglers’ haunts and fishing villages.

Browse in the many, independent shops of nearby towns, where fresh local produce and crafts abound and monthly farmers markets take place.

Ten minutes away is Salcombe, Devon’s most southerly town with stunning estuary vistas, beautiful beaches and sailing. Kingsbridge, a small, market town in a lovely estuary setting is also close by.
