Services available to guests of Burton Farmhouse include:
Laundry: All laundry will be done by us and returned to the guest's room. All clothing must be machine washable and clearly labelled.
IT and Telephone: For those wishing to use the
internet, a computer is available for clients to use. Wifi internet is
available in some rooms, but guests must request this prior to arrival to ensure availability.
A payphone is available for guests to make outgoing calls or to receive calls.
Mail: Mail for guests may be sent to the home
where it will be delivered to the addressee unopened. Outgoing mail may be
given to staff, but guests will be responsible for all postage costs.
Medical care: GP and nurses from Norton Brook Medical Centre (Kingsbridge) or Redfern Health Centre (Salcombe) visit when necessary and are on call for emergencies. Guests must request this service on arrival.
Optician and Dentist: Depending
on the fitness of the guest, we can arrange transport to visit the
dentist/optician of your choice. Alternatively, we can arrange for a
local dentist/optician to visit long-term guests at the hotel when required.
Chiropody and Physiotherapist: Can be booked by arrangement.
Hairdressing and Beautician: A hairdresser will visit the home every week, but appointments will need to be booked in advance.
Library services: Trips to the local library can be
arranged as required, or requests can be taken. A mobile library service
visits Malborough once every two weeks.
Religious services: Various Christian churches can
be found in the local area, which the home can arrange transport for
residents to visit. These include Church of England churches in Galmpton
and Malborough, a Catholic church in Kingsbridge, a Methodist church in
Malborough and a Baptist church in Malborough. Slightly further afield,
there is a Synagogue in Plymouth.
Shopping: Guests may either choose to go shopping
themselves for toiletries, clothing etc along with a family member or
care assistant (depending on risk assessment), or items may be supplied
by the home and the cost added to the guests' bill.
